Obtaining a Work Permit

If you are a minor and you are trying to gain employment, please note that all students who are under 18 years old must have a workers permit in Georgia. Work Permits are issued through the local high school that the student attends. Typically, the student should stop by Ms. Boyer's room, 506 and pick up a form to take to your employer.

HOWEVER, before you are able to submit a workers permit, you should already have been offered the job. The form is not something you can fill out ahead of time and often the employer will tell you once they hire you that you need to obtain the form and bring it to them for their portion of the form.

A copy of the intake form that is outside Ms. Boyer's room is also below. You can print it off and return it and proof of Identification (Birth Certificate or Drivers License) to Ms. Boyer, room 506.

SPECIAL NOTE: Legislation changed July 2015 in regards to minor work permits. Students who are over 15 years of age, will no longer be required to obtain a worker's permit
